WHO WE ARE

The National Coalition to Impeach Bush & Cheney is committed to mobilizing public pressure on Congress to impeach the President and Vice President of the United States. The core group of NCIBC is composed of San Francisco Bay Area activists from different organizations that have been drawn together by the cause of impeachment and have been lobbying members of Congress as well as local officials to get a bill of impeachment initiated. We regard our function as both local citizen-lobbyists and facilitators of this movement.

Current core-group members are:

• Gene Bernardi, research sociologist for the War on Poverty; won class action law suit for equal opportunity for women in the US Forest Service. Co-chaired group that watchdogs toxic waste at Lawrence National Radiation Lab in Berkeley.

• Marjorie Athwal, activist on Ralph Nader’s 1996 Green campaign for president and organizer for the Oaks Project in Berkeley that does trainings in democratic participation.

• Frank Snapp, Berkeley Green eco-activist who participated in first-ever demo against CIA HQ in 1986 and most recently worked for the Matt Gonzalez campaign for mayor of San Francisco.

• Riva Enteen, Chair of the KPFA Station Board; former Program Director, National Lawyers Guild, San Francisco

• Barbara Sykes, Assistant Professor, Occupational Therapy, New York University, Buffalo; Lecturer in Rehabilitation, University of California San Francisco Medical School; Board Member, Social Justice Center of Marin; Marin Peace & Justice Coalition.

• Pat Jordan, Marin Peace Justice Coalition, para-educator with special ed, California School Education Association activist.

• Hank Levin, Marin Peace & Justice Coalition, author and lecturer on holistic clearing and biomonitor-guided personal consultation, associate editor of Free Spirit Journal.

• Alan Barnett, retired Professor of Humanities, San José & San Francisco State Universities; author of Community Murals: the People’s Art; veteran peace, civil rights, prison reform and immigrant rights activist since 1960s.
